Welcome to Chapter 25 where the prophecies are plagiarized and the plot doesnt matter. 


Joseph Smith realizing that nobody understand Isaiah attempts to use the next chapter to make Isaiah make sense to his scribe and maybe anyone that reads this godforsaken book


Nephi says yea Isaiah is hard to understand because I didn’t teach my people about Jewish culture because Jews are AWFUL and EVIL. 


Laying some really heavy antisemtism dude this is entirely unnecessary.  They already got carried to Babylon. What more do you want?


Nephi says I write this so that you too can be afraid of how god will treat you like that AWFUL and TERRIBLE Jewish people if you disobey. 


Nephi says Isaiah is super easy for me to understand because I’m a prophet and all Jews are filled with the spirit of prophecy. Which uh Isaiah is written in poetic form that uses extensive symbolism. It’s not supposed to be taken literally. It’s supposed to be hard to understand. 


And if your people can’t understand it why the fuck did you read them 13 chapters of Isaiah?


Nephi says let me reiterate all those chapters of Isaiah that Jesus will come and what will happen to him. Just how many times do we have to go over this?


Jesus will come 600 years after Nephi left Jerusalem and his name will be Jesus Christ the son of god. Because an angel told Nephi of this of course. You know maybe the angel could have said something when we were watching this in 1st Nephi. Just saying. 


The law of Moses is bad but we’re going to while telling our family it is bad still follow it until Jesus comes. Because reasons. 


Nephi who once again only took the people who could tolerate his tomfoolery, I mean were righteous has determined his people are evil in need of chastisement because they don’t understand Isaiah which he already said he didn’t teach them to understand it. 


Can we bring Laman and Lemuel back to finish the job pleeeeeease?

2nd Nephi Chapter 9

  Chapter 9 Jacob prophesies that the Jews will return to Israel and Jesus will come to Jerusalem. Joseph you’ve said this over and over what is the point dude.  The atonement is necessary else god would have to banish us for wickedness. So let’s get this straight he has to save us from the sins he knows we were going to commit but he just lets us do them anyway? Couldn’t we just be taught to not be bad? Yet again another discrepancy with the trinity. It says the holy one of Israel will judge who is Jesus but current teachings say Jesus will be our advocate not the judge while the father judges. 1st Nephi Chapter 2

Chapter 2 Lehi gathers his family and they flee into the wilderness because nobody cares to Stone you if you run far enough or maybe they just can’t throw that far. Who knows. Need some Nephi arms  Laman and Lemuel are like we were rich and you want us to live in the fucking wilderness? Dude wtf Nephi is like I’m young but I’m buff as hell as spiritual and gifted and I’m sure bragging about this won’t make my brothers hate me If it’s not clear Nephi is Joseph Smith’s stand-in While the church likes to represent him as a buff 20 something given the time period Nephi is probably like 14-16 considering none of his siblings are married. Maybe younger. It’ll make Nephi make a lot more sense.
