2nd Nephi Chapter 2
Chapter 2
Joseph realized, the Smith not the Hebrew one, that hey uh the two sons of Nephi got basically nothing written about them let’s include them now.
Lehi says Jacob you have suffered much because SOMEBODY was RUDE. At this point Lehi and Nephi are about indistinguishable as characters as Lehi just parrots everything that Nephi says and believes. A shame really.
Jacob is blessed to be saved because even as a young child he is righteous. Well that was easy.
Jesus will save all those that believe in him. This will be contradicted later.
Lehi gives his most persuasive argument for why evil exists and that’s to have all knowledge you must experience evil. This however does not account for the levels of evil people experience or goodness. Experiencing evil doesn’t mean you will experience happiness it just means you could appreciate it. I feel like this could be better learned in heaven and not you know a different test for every godforsaken person.
Righteousness is key to being god. Asking again why you can’t have happiness if you don’t experience evil. Idk about you but I’m much happier when life isn’t falling apart around me. I appreciate it more after the fact but is that really necessary?
He says that we only do good or evil. Are there not neutral things? Are candy bars evil? Are naps evil? Monty Python and the holy grail is what? What say thee lord!
Satan fell but nobody tempted him. Why is that a difference? Why must we be pulled one way or the other. Mind boggling.
Men are that they might have joy to which I say what of the problem of evil. No having a candy bar then having one seems sufficient. Why is starvation needed for true joy?
God knew Satan would be evil and then let him and punished him. Predestination at its finest.
Laman and Lemuel will choose evil as what Nephi saw so what point is there of punishing or harassing them. We already know what happens! This is just lehi having one last go at his wayward sons!
