1st Nephi Chapter 18

 CHAPTER 18


Everyone begrudging held hostage happily works on the ship while Nephi gets inspiration on drug trips in the mountains. 


After the ship is done his brothers are stunned and like ok the lord might be on to something. I mean I would be too if I build a caravel 2000 years early. 


Joseph smith forgets that he added two new children of Lehi named Jacob and Joseph. Poor Sariah give the girl a break already!


They pack the ship and leave. To the promised land!


His brethren are happy on the ship and dancing and happy and Nephi I cannot stand for this rudeness. 


Nephi scolds them for getting too close together and they go dude you gotta chill this is ridiculous. 


Nephi won’t stop talking so Laman and Lemeul bind him to the mast so they can enjoy themselves. AND they were rude about it how dare! Again we have the writer’s poorly disguised fetish at work here. 


The compass suddenly stops working and they sail into a terrible storm. Which uh if this is true Nephi says he was bound for 4 days. Nephi is dead from hypothermia there’s no way he’s still alive. 


Super strong Nephi doesn’t break these bounds amazingly. He’s slacking. He’s presumably stronger now being mid 20’s but now he has to be untied. He just wanted them to do it for him 😂😂😂


He then prays “I love you lord I won’t complain like SOME people!”


Joseph smith backtracks and says oh yea Lehi said maybe you should stop amd untie Nephi and Laman and Lemuel said absolutely not so Lehi and Sariah became physically ill. Again I can’t particularly blame the L squad as being family with Nephi sounds like hell


Drama Queen Nephi reprises saying oh they nearly died worrying about me. And my family cried but Laman and Lemuel would not listen to simple tears. From the past I bet they expected Nephi to let himself out. Other cords no problem but this time he can’t break out?


Untied, Nephi takes the compass and leads them out of the storm and is like wow I prayed and the storm went away no way!


They arrive at the promise land after crossing two oceans and fiiiiiiind….wild horses and cows and oxen. In 600 BC in the Americas. Yep that definitely checks out nothing to see here! Just don’t ask us for traces of where they were!


Honestly such a weird thing for Joseph to insert. 


Just say you brought those animals with you. That’s also not believable but more believable than haha they are there! I mean something had to haul the giant Timbers of the ship right?

Joseph you’ve said this over and over what is the point dude.  The atonement is necessary else god would have to banish us for wickedness. So let’s get this straight he has to save us from the sins he knows we were going to commit but he just lets us do them anyway? Couldn’t we just be taught to not be bad? Yet again another discrepancy with the trinity. It says the holy one of Israel will judge who is Jesus but current teachings say Jesus will be our advocate not the judge while the father judges. 1st Nephi Chapter 2

Chapter 2 Lehi gathers his family and they flee into the wilderness because nobody cares to Stone you if you run far enough or maybe they just can’t throw that far. Who knows. Need some Nephi arms  Laman and Lemuel are like we were rich and you want us to live in the fucking wilderness? Dude wtf Nephi is like I’m young but I’m buff as hell as spiritual and gifted and I’m sure bragging about this won’t make my brothers hate me If it’s not clear Nephi is Joseph Smith’s stand-in While the church likes to represent him as a buff 20 something given the time period Nephi is probably like 14-16 considering none of his siblings are married. Maybe younger. It’ll make Nephi make a lot more sense.
